500 Hr Certification Program Application

Please note, to apply for the 500 Hr Program, you must have completed the 250 Hr Certificate Program. If you have not, please schedule your 250 Hr Intro Class to begin your journey!

    1. Completion of Level 1 (250 hrs) in order to enroll in Level 2.

    1. All homework assignments and teaching portfolio must be completed and already reviewed/approved by the Program Director 

  • You will need the following documents to apply:

    • MATERIALS: Participants are responsible for purchasing their own materials (pastels, 18×24 drawing pad, journal book.)

    • REFUND POLICY: A student choosing to withdraw is eligible for a pro-rated refund based on the portion of training received. Details are provided in the Enrollment Agreement.

    • COMPLETION CRITERIA: Students are expected to attend classes as scheduled – similar to a work commitment. Students must attend no less than 90% of all scheduled training and complete all coursework to graduate. Tracking student progress (aka our grading system) is measured on a Pass / Fail basis. An EAIO certificate of completion will be issued upon satisfactory completion of the course. An ISMETA certificate for Registered Somatic Movement Therapist or Registered Somatic Movement Educator is available upon successful completion of a total of 500 hours EAIO training program and includes case study, supervision, field work hours and an in-person facilitation class and presentation. 

    • ATTENDANCE: As an important member of a group learning environment, your absence will be felt. If you must miss a session or a day, inform the Director.

    • COMPLAINT PROCEDURES: If an obstacle to learning occurs – for example, personal issues with a teacher or another student – these will be addressed primarily by the affected parties.  If a satisfactory resolution is not met, the Director will facilitate mediated discussion. Alternatively, students may provide verbal or written descriptions of any complaints to the Operations Officer: Tom McLaren, tom.mclaren@expressiveartsoregon.com

  • After you submit your application, the EAIO team will review and be in touch within two weeks to notify you about your acceptance status into the program. Thank you and we look forward to reading your application!
